Fitzpatrick's Jellystone Park is a campground offering large grassy campsites, bare bones cabins and furnished trailers. When camping in the great outdoors we prefer to sleep in the open air in our tent. We selected one of the two primitive campsites available and were assigned site AA. Out site was in a private spot which was great because it gave us some quiet time away from the kids playing in the pool and running around the activity centers.

The cabins border the park and are available in two sizes. One room cabins can sleep four and two room cabins can sleep 6. After seeing the cabins I do not think I would ever rent one. They appear very small and their location is near the bathrooms and pool so it is in a bit of a noisy area. There are also two types of trailers available to rent. There were many trailers at the park and I am not sure which ones people brought and which one were rentable through the park. I love my tent, but might consider renting a trailer during the fall season when it sometimes gets cold in Illinois. It might be interesting to checkout what it's like to camp in a trailer without having to rent, buy or drive your own RV.

Standard amenities at the park include two heated pools, kiddie pools and hot tub, a large field set up with volleyball courts and horseshoe pits, a Ranger Station which is a general store and snack bar, super clean restrooms with showers, a miniature golf course, game room, hay wagon rides, surround sound movies and cartoons at Yogi Theater, and a Laundromat. Other niceties include being able to purchase firewood and ice from the nearby store and having fresh made pizza delivered right to your site. Camping at Jellystone ensures weekend which is fun for everyone. With all the activities and amenities it also makes it an easy weekend for the parents.

Nightly rates are $40.00 for a primitive site, $45.75 for water and electric and $48 for Water, Sewer and Electric. Additional rates are charged for bringing pets, additional cars, day visitors, extra tents, etc. but these fees do not seem strictly enforced. 1 room cabins are $82 while 2 room cabins are $102 per night. The trailers range from $135 to $160 per night. Check in time is at 4:00 p.m. and visitors must checkout by 3:00 p.m.
